John Blanchard brings Bungie's classic (and opensource) FPS, Aleph One, to the GP2X. The game runs quite well, and the datafiles are freely (and legally) available here. There you go; now you have no excuse not to try this excellent port.

The classic ID Software title Commander Keen: Invasion of the Vorticons comes to the GP2X thanks to Mudi. As with all interpreters, you'll need some of the original files to run (more on that in the readme).

Proof that the GP2X really does have a lot of power under its hood, Zico's Descent 1 interpreter, DX1 Rebirth, is a very impressive piece of work. It's fully playable and features extremely fluid motion in Descent's large and varied 3D environments. This one should not be missed!

Descent 2 arrives on the GP2X thanks to Paines. I can't personally comment on the speed, but I'm lead to believe that it's definitely playable. Enjoy!

Woogal brings Duke Nukem 3D to the GP2X. I believe it doesn't have music support, but the game runs quite well otherwise.

Frotz is an interpreter, ported by AdamC, that allows you to run all Infocom and Z-Machine games. No fancy graphics here (in fact, there are NO graphics here :).
Please note the image to the left, is NOT a screen capture of Frotz. The GP2X interpreter features a small row of characters across the bottom that act as your keyboard for the games.

HEP does it again. This time it's Hexen: Beyond Heretic (clearly, the sequel ;). It features all the niceties of his Heretic port. Definitely worth a look for any FPS fan.
A previous port of Hexen was created by NK. It can be download here. However, I think HEP's port surpassed it.

I must admit I had to do some research to figure this one out. But I've figured it out. ONScripter2x (by who? I really don't know...) is an interpreter of the popular nScripter engine, which is a visual novel interpreter. So I guess that means dating sims for the GP2X. Have fun (but not too much ;).
The game to the left probably works on this interpreter, but I'm not entirely sure (it's called narcissu). It's not a screen capture from the GP2X.

One of my favorite DOS games--Jazz Jackrabbit is brought to the GP2X by puck2099. The game plays pretty well; not exactly as I remember it on DOS but close enough to be well worth a look. Check the readme for important information.

What console doesn't run Doom anymore? I think it's some kind of rule. Well, the GP2X is no exception. mongolito404's Doom port also supports Doom 2 and all variety of Doom WADs, and it runs full speed.

ScummVM is an interpreter for the old graphic adventures from LucasArts and others. The port is WIP (work in progress), but it's already pretty capable. And with the large capacity of the GP2X, it has much wider voice support than the GP32 version.
ScummVM for GP2X is now an official port. :)

Zodttd--yes, that Zodttd ;) --brings Transport Tycoon Deluxe to the GP2X by way of TTD2X. The game runs great, and has been adapted to operate well within the limitations of the Gp2X--namely, the lower resolution. Sure to bring your personal and professional lives to a standstill. :P
